Justin coach at StillPoint Fitness

Justin Doran

Owner

Justin grew up watching his father perform old-school fitness routines in their dark, musty basement that served as the family gym.

After childhood, Justin fell out of touch with working out and was out of shape. In order to lose weight and feel better about himself, he tried a variety of fitness options. He failed to stick to one discipline until he found CrossFit.

The hard work, the stripped-down nature, and the focus on technique… everything about CrossFit reminded Justin of what makes working out special in the first place.

Justin has been coaching for over 10 years. While he continues to grow and develop as an educator, his joy for fitness and desire to help others has stayed the same over the years.

Specialty seminars attended: Ido Portal , MovNat, Pose Running, GMB Fitness, CF Gymnastics, CF Barbell, CF Mobility, CF Endurance, CF Kids, CF Olympic lifting, CF Strongman

Paul coach at StillPoint Fitness

Paul

Paul started CrossFit in 2016 in an effort to merge a newly discovered love of Olympic weightlifting with a serious need to improve his cardiovascular endurance.

As the story usually goes, he wound up enjoying it far more than he suspected, and was drawn in by the community and friends he made, not to mention becoming stronger and more athletically well-rounded. His analytical nature led him to enjoy frequent deep dives into the strategy and composition of CrossFit workouts and fitness in general, and soon after, he took the Level 1 seminar and began coaching.

Now he does his best to use that knowledge to help people enjoy their fitness and improve their own lives. Paul stays active during the winter months with snowboarding, and balances his time in the gym with plenty of leisurely gaming and reading.

Sara coach at StillPoint Fitness

Sara

Sara grew up logging miles with her marathon-running mother and as a high school cross country and track athlete, but it was her husband who dragged her to her first CrossFit class in 2013. She quickly realized that she could barely lift an empty barbell – but also that she was hooked.

Nine years later, she lifts more, runs less, competes occasionally, and has used the years of accumulated experience to branch out into programming and coaching.

When she’s not exercising or crafting new workouts to help other gym members improve their fitness, she works as a managing editor for a group of community newspapers.

Bryce coach at StillPoint Fitness

Bryce

Bryce decided to check out CrossFit which was recommended to him after participating in a Marine Corps obstacle course. That was the first time he ever worked with a barbell and he has not looked back since. As he spent more time in class he developed a deep interest in the Olympic lifts and he began to study them in depth, taking multiple seminars with Ursula Garza Papandrea and a seminar with Dianne Fu before getting his USAW Level 1 followed by his Level 2 a few years later.

Bryce has been dedicated to coaching the Olympic lifts since 2013 and finds ways to do it as much as possible in and out of the gym. He works professionally as a software developer and spends his free time reading, watching baseball and writing code for fun.

Mickie coach at StillPoint Fitness

Mickie

Mickie has been active all her life, starting in elementary school with swimming, ballet and modern dance. In high school and college, she played tennis and danced.

As an adult, she learned golf and began to work out at a conventional gym. After several years of spin and body pump classes, she got bored with that and decided to do obstacle course racing and mud runs for several years.

In 2013, she found CrossFit and was immediately hooked by the challenging gymnastic and barbell movements. Encouraged by one of her CrossFit coaches, she pursued her Level 1 certificate in 2021 and has since found a new level of enjoyment in sharing CrossFit with people as they go through their fitness journey.

Mickie is a wife, a mom of 3, and a former elementary school teacher. Currently, she works as a paralegal in a small law office. She loves to cook, read, paper-craft and watercolor and has recently begun training aerial silks.

Mark coach at StillPoint Fitness

Mark

As a self-proclaimed unathletic kid growing up, Mark did not pursue any sports or fitness until college when he started at a local global gym. Quickly thereafter he started training in Brazilian Jujitsu. In an effort to improve his strength and conditioning, Mark joined a gym that specialized in functional fitness. After several years (and injuries) Mark left the jujitsu world but remained engaged in functional fitness, training along with lifelong friends that were up for any challenge, whether it be triathlons, 24 hour relay races, Spartan trifectas and countless Tough Mudders.

After officially joining a CrossFit gym Mark fell in love with the methodology, variability, and community that CrossFit offered. The sense of personal accomplishment in hitting a new PR, learning a new skill, or just showing up on a bad day and finding a sense of calm in the workout was all the motivation needed to keep returning. Having seen the impact that fitness can have on both physical and mental wellbeing encouraged Mark to start training under Justin Doran and the other Stillpoint coaches and obtain his CF-L1 in May of 2025.

Moving to New Jersey in 2024, Mark was born and raised in Arizona. Mark now spends his free time enjoying all 4 seasons and exploring all the east coast has to offer with his two favorite people, his wife Emily and Bean (their dog).
